DAY400 [渡英346日] 2021年5月5日（水）：9日目，PCR検査の結果，Residence permit，トイレ事情
朝，息子を小学校に送り届けるとクラスメイトの女の子が息子に手紙をくれた。また，誕生日だったお友達に誕生日プレゼントを渡すとお返しにお菓子をくれた。息子を送り届けた後は，帰国前までルーチンであったコーヒーショップへ行ってカフェモカを購入。往復4000歩程度だが川沿いをのんびり歩きながら気分転換ができる。
今日は息子が帰宅後に指定された郵便局にResidence permitを取りに行く。あいにくの雨で取りに行くことを見合わせようとしたが，ちょうど晴れ間がのぞいたので決行。息子も同席する必要があり，バスに乗ったのが16時過ぎ。ちょうど中学生の帰宅時間と重なりバスは少し混んできた。一人の女子中学生が家庭科？で作ったのか，トレイに乗ったクッキーをラップも何もかけずに乗ってきた。このコロナのご時世になかなかのツワモノというか，無頓着というか…。
郵便局は空いていて待つことなく，Residence permitを受け取ることができたが，息子がトイレに行きたいと言い出し，慌てて探すことに。ロックダウンの時もそうだったが，とにかくトイレに苦労する。お店はまだ店内でのイートインを再開しておらず，テラス席があるお店のみ営業しているので，たとえお店が開いていてもトイレを使用できる店舗が限定的になっている。郵便局員に尋ねてもNGで，近所のマクドナルドもNG，テラス席のあるカフェに入ろうとしても店員がおらず断念。結局，covered marketの公衆トイレまで移動して何とか間に間に合った。去年からいてcovered marketにトイレがあることを知っていたからよいものの，初見だったらアウトかもしれない。本気で携帯トイレを使用しようと考えた。
ちょうどマーケットに行ったのでチーズを2種類，クッキーを購入して帰宅。でも我々が訪問したのは17時頃でお店はほとんど閉店してマーケットは閑散としていた。ちょうど食事の時間なので，近くの Red Lion Pub & Restaurantのテラスで食事。しかし，恐らく10度を切っていたであろう寒さの中で食事をするのはとても辛い。咄嗟にモヒートを頼んでしまいさらに後悔。ちょうど食事を待っている間に前日のPCR検査の結果が届き，家族全員みな陰性であった。これで入国関係の手続きは終わり。あとはワクチン接種。それにしても昨日の英国政府から電話で「選挙権の有無」が聞かれたけど，なぜなんだろうか？
食事をクイックに済ませてタクシーで帰宅し，息子の冷えた身体を温めるべく，お風呂を沸かして終了。今度は暖かい日を選んでいきたい…。
In the morning, I went to the coffee shop which I used to go to before going back to Japan and ordered a cafe mocha. Though it took about 4000 walks in both ways, I could refresh my mind.
After my son going back to school, we went to the post office to receive the residence permit. When we rode on the bus at about 16:00, many junior high school students were on the bus. One of the students had a tray which on the top were cookies. Thinking of the COVID-19 situation, her action was bold.
We successfully got the residence permit without waiting. However, my son wanted to go to the loo, so we asked the clerk where the loo was. Same as the lockdown, we had tough searching for the loo. The post office denied using the loo, the Mcdonals was the same, and the pub having the terrace didn't have the waiter or waitress. Finally, we found the public toilet at the covered market.
We had dinner at the Red Lion, which has the terrace. However, it was so cold, maybe under 10 degrees, so it was hard to wait for the meal. Besides, I ordered the mojito, and I truly regretted the order. During waiting for the meal, the results of our PCR test arrived by email, and we all were negative.
