DAY349 [渡英323日] 2021年3月15日（月）：家の契約更新完了，悪貨は良貨を駆逐する，科研費の申請終了

　1:30頃に目が覚めて起床。定年退官や他大学へ移動する先生方へのウェブ上での寄せ書きを描いたり，科研費の（内定後の）申請書類を仕上げる。私がもらう科研費は補助金なので，持ち越しができないうえ，昨今のコロナ禍で旅費の取り扱いが難しい。旅費を計上しても使用することができるのだろうか。
　息子を小学校に送り出した時のこと，今日から息子の送迎方法が変わった。まず，先生が一人一人名前を門の前で呼ぶので，名前が呼ばれたら入るようにすること。親は子供が門に入るまで見届けること。自転車は駐輪場に置いてから来ること。迎えも同様に名前が呼ばれるまで門の前で待ち，子供を迎ええた後は速やかにその場から離れる。「悪貨は良貨を駆逐する」ということわざを思い出した。

　
　帰宅するとようやく英国の賃貸契約が更新された。結局，オーナーの一人が契約を止めていたせいで時間がかかったが，契約満期2週間前になって更新が出来た。これでVISA申請の資料がほぼ揃った。後は銀行の英文の残高証明書の発行で完了。
　
　I woke up at1:30am. I wrote comments for a professor who retired and an associate professor, assistant professors, and manager.

　I had finished writing my application for the Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research. The grant I receive is a subsidy, so it cannot be carried over, and the recent COVID-19 makes it difficult to handle travel expenses. I wondered if I would be able to use the money even if I calculated the travel expenses.
　When I dropped my son off at primary school, the way, I picked him up and dropped him off changed from today. First of all, the teacher will call out each child's name at the gate, and the child should enter when his or her name is called. Parents are to watch their children until they enter the gate. Bicycles should be left in the bicycle parking lot before coming to school. When picking up a child, wait at the gate until the child's name is called, and leave the area as soon as possible after picking up my child. It reminded me of the saying, "Bad money drives out good money".

　
　When I went home, I found that our tenant agreement in the UK had renewed. In the end, it took a long time because one of the owners had stopped the signature, but it was renewed two weeks before the contract expired. Now I have almost all the documents for my VISA application. All I have to do is to get an English balance certificate from the bank.
