DAY253 [渡英230日] 2020年12月9日（水）：論文執筆中，昼食@Brasserie Blanc
午前3時半に起きて諸々の勉強。あまり政治的な話はするつもりはないが，日本の偏りのある報道に驚きを隠せない。米国もそうだが，特に米国の大統領選を見るにつけて不審な報道や不確かな証拠に基づく報道が多すぎる。Evidence-Basedというが，研究者も同じ。注意しないと。そうこうしている間に息子が6:00過ぎに起床。
息子を学校に送ると論文執筆。図表作成などルーチン作業ではあるが，何気に時間がかかる。90分で終わらせるつもりがつい午前中をほぼ使ってしまった。
休憩のため，JerichoにあるにBrasserie Blancランチに行く。クリスマス近くということもあり，クリスマスランチをオーダー。マッシュポテトがかなりの量だった。午後はメール処理。事務手続きを色々と返して息子の帰宅時間となり業務終了。
同じarticleの中で数字で表記した％と英語で表記した％が混在している場合があり，その場合，最初のパラフラフで登場する場合は数字の方がよいとネイティブの人が言っていた。あと，Andで始まる文章があったが，これは間違いであることや[,]andにしないといけないなど，忘れていたことを思い出す。備忘録としてメモ。
I woke up at 3:30, so I studied a lot of things little by little. Although I'm not particularly eager to talk about a political issue, biased broadcastings are terrible in the US as well as Japan. Seeing the presidential election, there so many strange and biased reports based on uncertain and second or third information even on public television, rather they wouldn't broadcast the facts what happened in the US. It was the same as researchers that should pay attention to the evidence-based fact and assertion.
After sending my son to primary school, I started to write the treatise and to make figures and tables. However, it took much time than I expected. For lunchtime, we went to Brasserie Blanc in Jericho street. Since it is near Christmas, this restaurant has started Christmas lunch, so we ordered. There were delicious, but the mashed potato is too much for me. In the afternoon, writing emails, and other routine tasks, the time has come to my son come home.
