DAY228 [渡英205日] 2020年11月14日（土）Blenheim Palace, self-isolationの要請
今日は色々なことが起きたのでいつもよりも長文。もともと今日は世界遺産でチャーチル首相の生家でもあるBlenheim Palace(ブレナム宮殿）に出かける予定で，朝からお弁当を作るためにご飯を炊いたり，出かける準備に追われる。残念ながら外はあいにくの天気で一日雨模様。朝9：30に自宅を出発し，途中Petro station（英国ではgas stationとは言わない）で給油して目的地に向かうが，カーナビの設定を間違えたのか，本来行きたい場所の裏側に入ってしまい20分ほど予約時間から遅れる。
事前予約した際に発行されるQRコードを入り口の人に見せて車で中に入って駐車。朝10：30，雨，事前予約制ということもあり，全体的に人はまばらで，広いがコンパクトな庭園をのんびりと楽しむことが出来た。雨でなければもっとゆっくり見ることができたかもしれないし，季節的にはもう少し夏のころがよいかもしれない。
ちょうどstanding wiht Giants ということで第一次世界大戦の追悼期間（rememberance sunday）ということもあり，11月5-22日の間，200体の兵士と75のpoppyの花のオブジェが展示されている（この期間，街の至る所でpoppyの飾りを身に着けた人，車などを見かける。ジョンソン首相もエリザベス女王もつけている）。他にも『ハリーポッター』で若き日のスネイプ先生がつるされた木とか，『ミッションインポッシブル』，『007』などで使用された場所もあるとのこと。スネイプ先生の木は思いっきりスルーしてしまった。自宅からは車で20分ほどで年間パスもあるのでまた行きたいところ。今回はロックダウンということもあり，邸宅内，美術館，レストラン・カフェは閉館。
帰宅後，学校の連絡（mailing listに添付ファイルでやってくる）を見て愕然とした。なんと息子の学年からCOVID-19が発生したため学級閉鎖をするというもの。しかも息子の学年は2つのクラスに分かれているが，この2つのクラスを同時に2週間閉鎖するというもので，私たちを含めて約60人がself-isolationが必要とのこと。ただ，誤解のないように記載をしておくと，自己隔離が必要なのは子供のみで，その親は外出はできる。おかげで非公式のmailing listは蜂の巣をつついたような大騒ぎ。「なぜ2つのクラスとも閉鎖しないといけないのか」「子供を外で遊ばせていけないのか」「COVID-19で陰性だったら登校してよいのではないか」など。a half termもそれなりにイベントを組んで乗り切ったが，それは外出ありきの話。しかも子供は原則論に従うと2週間（自宅の庭を除いて）外に出られない。ベビーシッターも頼めないし，flu vaccinationも妻と交互にいかないといけないし，何よりも日中の業務はほぼ絶望的になる。
暗黙の了解で犯人捜しはしないのだが（非公式のmailing listではもしかしたらCOVIDにかかった子供の親がいるかもしれないから），「うちの子はnegative（陰性）」であるとか，励まし「いつでも食料をdropする」という言葉が出ているが，裏を読めば「うちの子ではないアピール」をしているようにも感じてしまうのは学者ゆえのひねくれ根性だろうか。あと，せっかくクラスを2つに分けていることの意味の是非からCOVID-19にかかったのが実は先生ではないのか，などという説まで出てくる（隣のクラスの先生と接点があり，不特定多数になるから）。この年齢の子供は色々な友達と遊ぶから追跡不可能でだから学年全体を閉鎖したという考えに落ち着いた模様。ただ，現実問題として体力が有り余る子供を2週間も自主隔離できるのだろうか。不安しかない。
本人はよく分からず自宅でおサルさんの玩具にご飯をあげるという遊びをしていた。
There were so many things that happened today so that I would write a lot down. We visited Churchill's Blenheim Palace, which was the World Heritage. Though it was, unfortunately, raining all day, we prepare for making a lunch box and for going out.
We left my house at 9:30, and on the way, refuelled at a petro station ( not say a gas station in the UK), but maybe I mistook the navigation setting, I had driven the wrong gate. So I delayed for twenty minutes from the reservation time. I showed the QR code which issued at prebooked to the person at the entrance and parked in.
Because (1)At 10:30 am, (2)it was rain, and (3) A reservation needed, there ware few people, so I could take a leisurely looking at the compact gardens. But it will take more than an hour if we want to see all gardens. If it wasn't raining, I might have been able to see more slowly, and I thought summer is better to see the garden.
It was just the remembrance Sunday period, that means WW1 memorial period, so we could see the standing with Giants, where 200 soldiers stand and 75 poppies at 5th - 22nd on November, (We can see people wearing them. In addition, both Prime Minister Johnson and Queen Elizabeth wear.). Besides, there was a tree called "Harry Potters tree" which was used the scene, young Snape was suspended in the air. This place is famous for "007" and "Mission Impossible" and so on. I had gone to Snape's tree but I couldn't notice.
It was only 20 minutes by car, and we got a yearly passport, so I want to go again. Because of the second lockdown, the museum, restaurant and cafe closed(only a few small shops still open, like a coffee shop).
After going back home, I was shocked to see the letter from primary school.
The class will be closed from Monday because a COVID-19 confirmed at my son's year grade. Though there are two classed in this year grade, the primary school decided to close both classes(about 60 pupils), and request pupils to have self-isolation for two weeks.
However, please do not misunderstand, this means that a self-isolation is only to pupils not to the family, so parents can go outside like shopping and exercise.
Due to this letter whats app is like hitting a beehive.
"Why should both classes be closed?", "Why shouldn't play the kid play outside?" and so on.
I managed to do a half term, but it depends on being able to go outside. However, this situation prohibits kid to go out and we cannot use a sitter to take care of. In addition, we will have to take alternately with my wife for flu vaccination. Above all, I cannot do my work during the daytime at all.
My son didn't understand the situation, so he played with the monkeys of toy to feed food.
